Activities & Social Program
As a catalyst and enhancer of relationships between participants. You will have the opportunity to engage in physical activity in the morning (before the start of the sessions) and at the end of the day. Registrations will be done daily, and the activities will be varied and adapted.
You will also have the opportunity to participate in a range of social activities, including cultural visits to prominent cultural and natural sites in the Ribatejo and Alentejo regions. Additionally, you can take part in sports activities or cultural events such as the European Outdoor Film Tour.
EOFT: The european Outdoor Film Tour
The European Outdoor Festival (EOFT), the biggest outdoor film festival in Europe, has been showcasing top adventure and outdoor films across numerous European countries every fall and winter since 2001.
The EOFT offers a two-hour program that takes audiences on thrilling journeys, featuring adventurers pushing their limits in activities like mountaineering, climbing, mountain biking, kayaking, paragliding, skiing, snowboarding, and more. Watch the EOFT 2024 – OFFICIAL TRAILER

Physical activity

Morning runs or walks, yoga sessions or fitness group activities are waiting for you, ranging from 30 to 45 minutes.

Congress dinner
To be held in 26th June and included is a moment to socialize, have fun, and savor the fantastic Portuguese cuisine.
The congress dinner is included in the regular registration (3 days registration fee) only. For one day fees, students and employees registration options dinner is not included. In these cases, you can join us adding the dinner value to your registration total.
Walk or bike tour to Rio Maior´s saltpans (Salinas)
On June 26th, as an alternative to the workshops, you will have the opportunity to visit the Rio Maior Salt Pans. Registration is free but must be completed at the time of congress registration.
The Rio Maior Salt Pans are located 3 km from Rio Maior in the village of Marinhas do Sal. These are the only inland salt pans currently in operation in Portugal. Although the exact date of origin of these salt pans is unknown, it is known that they are at least 800 years old.
For 2h30 hours, on foot or by bike, you will have the opportunity to visit this site, including a guided and interpretative tour of this important Portuguese heritage. Know more on the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-XRSafHoWI
Social Program
On 27th June, after the closing of the congress, you will have the opportunity to participate in a range of social activities, including cultural visits to prominent cultural and natural sites in the Ribatejo and Alentejo regions.
Additional costs are applied. Sign up required at the time of congress registration.
The program is still under development, so some changes may occur to the proposal presented. However, the essence of the cultural visit will always remain consistent with what is presented.
Three options available:
Option 1: Bus sightseeing: Ribatejo region tour | From 3pm-9/10pm | Max 60 people| Cost: 60€
This tour is an experience in itself. It includes:
- a visit to Santarém (district capital)
- a falconry demonstration
- a visit to a typical fishermen´s village
- a visit to one of the oldest noble houses in Portugal
- an equestrian demonstration
- a wine tasting session
- a typical dinner (3 course menu)
Detais of the tour: At 3pm we will get a Bus to Santarém City, with a quick visit to the Jardim Portas do Sol (Garden of the Gates of the Sun), offering stunning views of its churches. The tour continues to the Falcoaria Real (Royal Falconry) in Salvaterra de Magos, with a visit to the museum and a falconry demonstration.
Next, we head to Escaroupim, where you’ll explore one of the old Aldeias de Avieiros (Fishermen’s Villages) and the beautiful Rio Tejo (Tejo River). From there, we proceed to Casa Cadaval (Cadaval House), one of the oldest noble houses in Portugal. Here, we will enjoy an equestrian demonstration (Casa Cadaval boasts one of the oldest and largest herds of Lusitano Horses in the world), followed by a wine tasting session. If time permits, we may also observe the Lusitano mares grazing in the fields.
Afterward, we go to Almeirim to taste one of the most iconic dishes of the Ribatejo region: the famous Sopa da Pedra (Stone Soup).
At the end of the day, we return to Rio Maior city.
Option 2: Surf Class in Peniche| from 3pm-7pm (including transfers) | Max 20 people| Cost: 20€
Portugal is a country of sea and surf. With this option, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a beginner’s surfing lesson at the iconic and world-famous beaches of Peniche, the host city of one of the stages of the World Surf League circuit.
The lesson will last approximately 2 hours, with an additional 2 hours needed for travel between Rio Maior and Peniche, including the return trip. All equipment is provided by us, including wetsuits.
Option 3: Hiking and visit to the Alcoberta´s cave| from 3pm-6pm (including transfers)| Max 20 people | Cost: 10€
Chãos is a beautiful mountain village located within the Parque Natural das Serras de Aire e Candeeiros (Aire and Candeeiros Mountain Natural Park), right next to the city of Rio Maior.
In this activity, you will have the opportunity to learn about the local development project of the Cooperativa Terra Chã (Terra Chã Cooperative) and take part in a program immersed in nature.
Reception of the group of visitors at the Terra Chã exhibition/shop, followed by a bus ride to Lagoa de Candeeiros (Candeeiros lagoon), where we will begin the Ribatejo PR4 hiking trail “The Water Route in Serra dos Candeeiros” (1h30m) including a visit to the Alcobertas Cave (1h). The hike will continue back to Terra Chã cooperative, where the bus will be waiting.
