Christian Schneidermeier (born 1969) is a qualified sports economist and, since February 2025, the Director of the European Outdoor Group (EOG), the voice of the European Outdoor sector. Growing up by Lake Tegernsee, his career in sales and marketing took him away from his hometown, with professional stops at Gore Bike Wear, the Olympic Training Center in Tauberbischofsheim, and the Beach Volleyball Masters.

His desire to be closer to the mountains led him to Taufkirchen in 2001, where he joined Ortovox’s sales department. He later developed the company’s avalanche seminars segment and managed the press, marketing, and sales divisions, as well as brand management alongside founder Gerald Kampel. After Ortovox was sold to Schwan-Stabilo Outdoor in 2011, Schneidermeier became the CEO, a position he held until November 2024.

From November 2020 to the end of 2024, Schneidermeier served as deputy chair of the Outdoor segment and board member of the German Sporting Goods Industry Association (BSI). He has also volunteered on the Chamber of Industry and Commerce’s Corporate Social Responsibility committee since 2018 and been a member of its General Assembly since 2021.

Schneidermeier is a passionate mountaineer, ski tourer, and sports enthusiast with no ambition for world records. He enjoys volleyball, tennis, mountain biking, skiing, and is deeply invested in sustainability and social development. A committed European, he appreciates nature, good food, drink, music, and theatre.

Christian will be one of the keynote speakers at the “Outdoor Sports and Adventure Tourism: Management perspectives and future challenges” plenary sessions.
